What is Food For The Ears?

Food For The Ears is a nonprofit music festival dedicated to showcasing artists and bringing people together for a festival of fantastic music and art! All of our profit will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia! This year our event will be on June 12th-13th in Downtown Dartmouth and at Alderney Landing.
Our festival is about celebrating and building community through the power of music and art. We are committed to bringing some of the brightest Nova Scotian creative artists together to perform and showcase their art, all while working together to raise awareness and funds for those experiencing food insecurity. In 2023, our then 16 year old founder, Ethan Chitty, hosted our first show with only four young local rock/punk bands. After featuring nine phenomenal bands, five amazing additional songwriters and a variety of talented textile artists, at the Lighthouse Arts Centre in 2025, and raising significant funds for Feed NS, it’s safe to say that Food For The Ears is becoming an event not to be missed. In June 2026, the Food For The Ears Society, a registered non-profit, will be bringing you our biggest show yet!
Stay tuned for our more on our event and our brand new series of Appetizer Shows.
